The Vision
The vision is to see our children completely sold out for
Christ. There is no age limit when it comes to God and I believe He
can and will pour out His Spirit upon even our children. I want to
prepare every child for their future transition from children’s
church to “big church.”
It is my vision to see our children in worship and leading others in
worship; to have an understanding of the Bible and not be afraid to
ask questions; and to provide a place where they can come and feel
welcome while having fun. I want them to be able to step out of
their shells at a young age and have experience with ministries like
a drama team and children’s choir.

1.
All children are created by
God and in His image.
a. “You created the deepest parts of my being. You put me together inside m mother’s body. How You made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise You for that. What You have done is wonderful. I know that very well.” (Psalm 139 : 13-14)
b. “None of my bones were hidden from You when You made me inside my mother’s body. That place was as dark as the deepest parts of the earth. When You were putting me together there, Your eyes saw my body even before it was formed. You planned how many days I’d live. You wrote down the number of them in Your book before I began to live the first of them. “ (Psalm 139 : 15- 16)
2.
God desires a relationship
even with children.
a.
“Jesus said, let the little children
come unto me, and do not hinder them. For the kingdom of heaven
belongs to such as these. “ (Matthew 19 : 14)
3.
The same God that works
through adults works through children. Age is not a factor.
a. “I don’t know how to speak, I am only a child.’ But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say I am only a child. You must go to everyone I send you to. You must say everything I command you to say. Do not be afraid of the people I send you to. I am with you. I will save you. Said the Lord.” (Jeremiah 1 : 6-8)
b. “Before I formed you in your mother’s body I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart to serve me. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1 : 4-5)
4.
A Biblical foundation makes
a huge impact.
a. “Train up a child in the way he should go. When he is old, he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22 : 5-7)

The
Staff:
No ministry can survive with only one leader, therefore I will have
a team that will help me every step of the way. To help with the
transition from children’s church to youth group, a lot of my team
will consist of teenagers. The more interaction children have with
them, the safer and less threatened kids feel going into the teen
service.
C2 Service:
Our services will be unlike anything most of them have seen before.
It will be fast paced and lively. There will be puppets, skits,
games, lessons, and worship. Every six weeks we will start a new
curriculum and every week in that six weeks there will be a theme
and a verse to go along with that theme.
When we get into
the core of the service we will split the kids up. The 3-5 year olds
will go in a separate room and hear a message that is more on their
level of understanding.
The Corner Store:
During the service the kids will have opportunities to earn “money”
by doing things such as bringing their Bible, a visitor, and
offering, memorizing the previous weeks memory verse and by
participating in all activities of the service. They can save their
“money” up for weeks at a time or spend it at the end or beginning
of every C2 Service. The Corner Store will sell everything from
candy and wacky toys to t-shirts and free dinner cards.

Parental Control:
At the
beginning of every new curriculum, we will have a “parental control”
meeting. I want the parents involved and I want them to know where
their child currently stands. I
want parents to offer suggestions and point out things they like and
don’t like, things that they want to see happen. They will be the C2
Leadership Team’s encouragement and source of new ideas. I will do
my best to send out Newsletters once a month reminding parents of
upcoming events and giving them a brief over-view of what’s been
going on.
Illuminate:
The word illuminate means to provide or brighten with light. Our
children are the light to our surrounding community. An Illuminate
service is a C2 Service for the community. All the things done in C2
on Sundays will be done at Illuminate but on a larger scale. It is
my plan to have one Illuminate service a quarter (every 3 months).
Drama & Choir:
Starting the summer of 2009 we will begin forming a drama team and
children’s choir. More details will follow!
